Van Der Woods is a company located in Amsterdam and born from my passion for handmade, unique items. Since 2010, I have been interested in working with materials of all kinds. It started as a hobby that turned into passion, and then blossomed into a career of crafting and creating custom items for customers. BUILT IN CABINET
An en-suite cabinet designed to value and match the raw and minimalistic feel of the residence. (Renovated by Atelier van Heemskerk). In this, we decided to make wood joints for all visible connections. The sliding doors which disappear in between the cabinets are made from the same wood and slide without using any modern mechanism.
MULTIPURPOSE TABLE UNIT
Drawing, reading, painting, writing. All is possible with this workstation. My client who is an artist, requested me to design and create a piece of furniture that allowed her to work while sitting down as well as standing up. After mentioning that she also likes to paint, I decided to include an adjustable painting corner.
LECTERN SCHOOL DESK
Inspired by the organic shapes of nature, I redesigned the traditional school desk which is known to all who went to school as a child. The oak top is levitated by using small pieces of walnut. The drawer isn't exactly a drawer but instead drops down for you to reach for your notebook.
TELEPHONE CHAIR
Sit back and relax on this comfy chair. Designed to have a nice and long conversation on the phone. The wide seat and the low backrest give you plenty of room to change your position as you please. While the long armrest makes it possible to read a book comfortably.
